Horse Assisted Therapy for Veterans

"As prey animals, horses are hypervigilant until they learn they are not in danger. ... Because of their own hypervigilance, veterans with PTSD easily understand and can relate to the trust and hypervigilance in a horse."  Read more about Horse Assisted Therapy.

Cappucinno in Wellington, FLCappuccino (aka "Cappy") is the oldest horse in the barn but you'd never know it!  He was born in 1989 and was imported from Germany.  He has shown in the jumpers all over the US and was quite the athlete!  He has been in the ribbons at many of the largest shows in the country (including the prestigous Wellington, Florida winter circuit).   Now Cappy spends his days wandering freely around the property, helping to keep the grass mowed and occasionally taunting the other horses.   He is curious and thinks nothing of trying to follow you anywhere.  In fact, one day he managed to get the feed room door open and then locked himself in!  He was quite happy with himself!
